Fashion Show Alert, Tampa Florida

Good morning my little crumb cakes & welcome to my blog! Doing some promoting today! As a new fashion blogger in Tampa I am always looking for other fashionistas {men included} to work with. My friend graciously stumbled across a page a few months back called “Modage” by designer Rebecca Fishel out of Seminole Heights, Florida. So just like I did with Tamy I took it upon myself to reach out & introduce myself. About a month later we met up for wine {Already my new BFF} & we hit it off. I mean when you put two girls who love fashion & wine together, chances are the title BFF is inevitable! Long story short, we started working together on her upcoming fashion show April 23. I offered my service to help market & style the show & she accepted, appreciatively!

Rebecca’s designs are modern vintage. How she does it… she goes into vintage consignment shops & finds the best of the best pieces & moderns them up by tailoring or adding different pieces. Not all of them are messed with, some are sold as-is. For someone like me who does not know vintage too well, I was in my glory.

Here’s the deets for the show:

  • When: April 23rd 5pm-9pm {or later}
  • Where: Above the Salt Cafe 428 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33604 (photos above taken here)
  • Theme: Fashion on the Field
    Inspired by the contest held at the Melbourne Cup (AUS) since it was first introduced in 1962. This year, YOU will be the judge and you vote will automatically enter you in for a drawing to win some pretty awesome prized!!!
  • Tickets: $15 includes 1 signature champagne cocktail

  • 5p-6p: Swanky Cocktail Hour
  • 6p-7p: Fashion show & dessert table
  • 7p-9p: Afterparty with DJ, raffle prizes and sidewalk sale (Modage clothing)

There will also be featured models in the show from the magazine Prolific Quarterly & the show will be featured in their May edition so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I asked Rebecca to bring me over some dresses to wear for my photo shoot last weekend & girlfriend showed up with a trunk full basically! I wish I could have worn them all but one thing I am learning is that a lot of vintage suits taller women. It does seem women have shrunken as the years have passed, right?! Or is that just me? Anyway, the two I ended up choosing were NOT what I expected to love. So there ya go, just like in life don’t set expectations! Here’s a sneak preview of Modage Vintage designs!

Better see you there with your finest Melbourne attire on 🙂

XO Cheers, Jenn
