On Sunday May 21, I will be co-hosting Summer Style Brunch at one of Seminole Height’s coolest, urban-meets-garden hot spots, Southern Brewery & Winemaking on Nebraska Ave. The owner, Kelly Fenstermacher is one of the most down-to-earth, easy to know, you want to be her friend kind of women who is business savvy with a side of vino! Her and her husband, Brian met in 1996 at beer festival in Atlanta, GA and moved to Tampa 5 years later where Brian became head brew master at Ybor City Brewing. In 2008, Kelly left her 25 year banking career & found a warehouse where they opened Southern Brewing, one of most popular brewing and winemaking companies around town {they have wine on tap people!!!} In 2011, they moved into their current location on Nebraska Ave where they are steadily growing & expanding their hops & grapes to our palates!

Kelly was elated when I came to her with the idea of our brunch. We met twice to discuss it & decided we would host it outside in the blissful garden surrounded by ivy covered awnings and gas fire pits. The hunt was on, now food! While Southern has the beer & wine down pat, their source of grub comes from various food trucks. I ventured out to see which amazing businesses would be willing to donate their delicious tastings to our wonderful event.

Catch 23 is located in the heart of Westchase off of Linebaugh Ave tucked away at the end corner of Montague St in Westpark Village. They have a chill island vibe, with music and a large menu to choose from ranging from fish, to meat and sushi. Catch 23 was one of the gracious vendors who was willing to give back to the Tampa Bay community by donating breakfast casseroles to the Summer Style Brunch. So head out to Westchase & grab a sushi roll & a glass of their finest wine, it’s worth it!

At the corner of North Nebraska Ave and East Patterson Ave, in Seminole Heights sits a small orange bungalow outlined in a white wooden border surrounded by a wrap-around parking lot and an attractive front porch. Ox & Fields Restaurant & Bar has a rustic, woodsy feeling to it with a side of chic. I met the chef and co-managing partner Viet Vo a few weeks ago & he was a doll. I told him about the event & jumped right on board! He was super cooperative & helpful. We came up with a build your own grits & biscuit bar to add to the casserole donation that will be cooked fresh onsite at the brunch! We are so excited to have Ox & Fields attend our event. Check them out. http://oxandfields.com

To round out our brunch, Bay Harbor Hotel which is located on the Courtney Campbell Causeway has donated a lovely two night stay along with a complimentary brunch, as well as fresh pastries & fruit for the day of our brunch! Come get a taste & bet on a weekend in paradise!
