Hello there Fashionistas ♥
How’s the “fall” treating you? We are briskly moving into the winter months, and in Florida this brings a smile to our faces. In the Northeast, not so much. When I purchase “winter” clothing in Florida I make sure to buy lighter knit sweaters and long-sleeve tees because most of the cable knits are just too thick.
I love the idea of a button-down dress layered with a sweater dress… but all I thought was, holy sweat-fest, that is not going to work for me. When I found this built in collar and ruffled button-down sweater dress I had to grab it. This style is very popular so it was not too difficult to find. I ordered a small and it was a little bit bigger than I really wanted it to be so I added a dramatic belt to cinch the waist and also tie in my black boots. I have over-the-knee boots which would also look great for a more day-to-day look however, this style is one of my favorites.
I love using the contrast of a girly dress with a rocker bomber, it’s one of my favorite fashion tips. I saw this floral beauty originally at Nordstrom for like a million dollars and I thought, well if I was still in New Jersey sure I would probably go for it but it’s useless for down here. I am not wasting the money. Low and behold, I was reading a fashion blog and the blogger had almost the same floral embroidered bomber from Shein for $44. I immediately ordered it. The quality is good but it’s obviously not real leather so I’m not dying of a heat stroke. It does run small, I am wearing a large. I went for the large because of the chest measurements.
**Girls when ordering on Shein or Romwe make sure you go by the measurements, not size!
These boots are about 100 years old from BCBG but they are a fan favorite. I don’t get to wear them much but when I do they bring attention to a large congregation of interested fashion lovers. I got them from the Macy’s boot sale in March 2012 I think. Also, I have to say, I am very disappointed in Macy’s shoe selection these days. Maybe it’s just the Florida stores because online still has a lot of options but the store carries maybe a quarter of what’s online and it’s not.so.great. Just venting.
Anyway, happy contrasting loves!
